Tamborine Village Rural Fire Brigade Members Receive Many QFES Awards
On 12th of March, four members of the Tamborine Village Rural Fire Brigade received awards to honour their service. The QFES ceremony was held at Gleneagle Gables with presentation made by Deputy Commissioner for Volunteers, Mike Wassing, Assistant Commissioner of SE, Kevin Walsh, and RFS Regional Manager for SE, Alan Gillepsie.
Terry Watkins received the National Medal for 15 years, 1st Clasp for 25 years, and 2nd Clasp for 35 years of service. He, as well as Ted Blackburn received the Commonwealth Games Citation for assisting in helicopter service. Grai Johnson received the Commonwealth Games Citation for work in the Operations Centre. Steve Curtis received the Clasp for Diligence & Ethical Service Award.
