Eleven Year Old Matilda Honours Anzac Day
When it was suggested that Pony Club members do a tribute for Anzac Day, eleven year old Matilda Winn was more than happy to oblige.
Matilda made a sign, saddled up her pony, Jasper, and posed in the driveway of her home, proud to be playing a part in honouring our Diggers.
“It’s important to do this tribute because people in these wars died for us,” she said. “We are doing it in our driveways because we can’t celebrate Anzac Day as usual because of the Covid 19 virus.”
Matilda, who is a member of Tamborine Pony Club, has sent her tribute photo to Pony Club Australia, which has turned all the photos from across the country into a video clip which has now been posted online.
As a pony owner, Matilda is aware that thousands of horses were sent overseas for the war effort, with most not returning home. By Melinda Hughes (Tamborine Pony Club)
