Sunday Fun @ TM Community Kindy Open Day
It was a wonderful way to start a Sunday when the Tamborine Mountain Community Kindergarten opened its doors once again to the local community on Sunday 21st August. Families were welcomed from all around the local area to meet the teachers and enjoy the beautiful gardens for their Open Day.
All the children who visited got a taste of what it would be like to spend a day at our kindy playing and learning in a beautiful, natural mountain setting. They had the best time playing in the creek, fort and sandpit and using all the indoor and outdoor learning stations and nature activities.
Students and staff welcomed the families and our special guests Councillor Derek Swanborough and his wife Sue with “My Mountain Home” which is the Kindergarten’s unique and original Acknowledgement to Country.
A hugely enjoyable morning was had by all with a delicious fundraising bake stall made by the kindy families and sausage sizzle generously donated by Woolworths Oxenford, a Puppet Show by Dr Annette Harden, and the truly amazing Face Painting by Fran Mahony. The Kindy would like to thank all the families and teachers who worked so hard to make the Open Day a wonderful success! We would also like to thank Shirley Hans for being official photographer.
Tamborine Mountain Community Kindergarten has been preparing kids for school for over forty years and we received an Exceeding rating from the Department of Education this year. Held in an inclusive and nature-based learning environment, the TMCK also runs a free, alternating Friday Playgroup that is open to the public during the school term held on site at 23 Coleman Square, North Tamborine. It is run by our qualified Early Childhood Educators and a great way to meet other families.
If you would like further information regarding the playgroup or have a child ready for Kindy next term or next year please check our facebook page @tmckindy or contact staff@tmckindy.org.au to register them on the waiting list.
