Bearded Dragon Hotel is Scenic Rim’s favourite destination for live and free music, every weekend! Head on out to the country and soak up the Tamborine atmosphere with a traditional Aussie pub meal and a local craft beer (or two!). The months are getting warmer ‘round these ways and Bearded Dragon Hotel is dedicated to bringing our patrons the top of the crop when it comes to upcoming Australian musicians. Our Bandemic live music sessions started back in 2020 as a way to support local musos who were hit hard by the pandemic’s wave in the live music scene. Ever since, our Bandemic has returned each year, bigger and better, and been a hit amongst both travelers and locals.
Over the next couple months, we are welcoming some incredible acts for another Paddock Party on the Mainstage! Get up close and cuddly with our resident alpacas, grab an ice-cold Dragon beer and unwind to the indie-rock tunes coming through the PA from emerging Aussie live music artists. On Sunday October 30th we are welcoming a spooky-special, Brisbane based musician, Sammm. will be joining us in the arvo, accompanied by some fantastic support acts.
Littered with bruised optimism over a mural, coloured by dreamy indie-rock, Sammm. draws melancholic sentiments from growing up and times of intense heartbreak. Sammm. blends lucid indie-rock tones with his angsty yet elegantly restrained vocal tone and accent which over the years has been molded from his punk influences. Residing in the small coastal village of Lennox Head: Matthew, Mike, Scott, and Fraser create a unique blend of guitar-driven, pysch-disco rock under the name “Wharves”. On Sunday 6th November from 2pm, Wharves the Live Band will be performing right here at the Dragon with support from “Super Ghost” and “The Plane Sailors”.
Before November is over, we’ll be welcoming Byron Bay locals, Seaside to party in the paddocks for another Bandemic special! Emerging from the sparkling waters of Byron Bay, “Seaside” are four friends making indie music with a punchy, dream-pop sound. With two EPs and several successful singles under their belt, Seaside’s hypnotising live show has seen them share the stage with acts such as ‘Ocean Alle’y, ‘Angus & Julia Stone’, ‘Lime Cordiale’, ‘The Jungle Giants’, ‘WAAX’ and ‘Last Dinosaurs’. With support from “The Dandys” and “Madam Monet” – this is a unmissable gig for Scenic Rim!
Bearded Dragon Hotel has been a staple in Tamborine for 25 years and has established itself as a hotspot for emerging Live Music Acts. Drawing a large crowd every weekend, the Dragon boasts All Day Dining, resident alpacas and baby farm animals, and Live and Free music on Saturdays and Sundays. Spanning over 5 acres, this large venue prides itself on being the Home of Hospitality; offering a range of local craft brews, onsite accommodation, multiple hirable venue spaces and so much more!
