Monthly Report On Community Happenings
Some of the items addressed at the Tamborine and Districts Citizens Association Inc’s monthly meeting for September were:
Business Report:
TDCA Inc Markets – stall numbers were increased, an amazing 20 stalls with a few queries about new stalls, which is very exciting! Visitors commented they had a very enjoyable day. The variety of stalls was great with everything from crystals to Vegan donuts. Trish says she will be trying them out at the October Market! Looking forward to next Tamborine Community Country Market on 16 October!
Tamborine’s 2nd Annual Car Show – TDCA President Syd Norman thanked all involved with the Car Show, saying it was a marvellous day, with a huge response from vendors and displays – some asking if they can come back for the next one!
Thank you to everyone who helped out with the preparations and on the day, and to all those who contributed and/or donated including the many wonderful businesses, groups, and individuals, also those who brought vehicles to display – and of course, all those who visited to see the show!
A fabulous event – the second one ever held in Tamborine!
Councillor’s Report:
Road Works – have been undertaken around Vonda Youngman Drive and Leach Road, scraped edges to prevent water build up pushing up under the edges of the road.
Over 400 potholes a day are being repaired in Scenic Rim with 3 teams attending to the issue. The culvert on Vonda Youngman Drive has had the drain and edges cleared out as well as some extra work such as re-sleeving.
Events – the Citizen’s Ceremony was held at The Centre in Beaudesert on Thursday 15 September
with five residents from Tamborine receiving citizenship.
A Commemoration Service for the Queen and new King is to be held on Saturday 22 October.
