Celebrating Tamborine Mountain’s 350th parkrun!
It all started back in late 2014 when local runner Vince McKillop decided that Tamborine Mountain needed a parkrun. So he got a small team of Volunteers together and this team put together the Tamborine Mountain parkrun under the direction of parkrun Australia.
Parkrun is a worldwide organisation with 2000+ parkruns across 22 different countries, and 450+ of these parkruns are in Australia, with 30,000+ runners and walkers participating weekly.
These are ‘free timed 5km community’ events held every Saturday morning at 7am, and it’s your choice whether you run or walk, and these events are dog friendly.
Recently Tamborine Mountain parkrun celebrated its 350th event – since their first event took place on the last Saturday in January 2015.
The day was themed as “A Teddy Bears Picnic” with participants bringing along their Teddy Bears and some picnic faire!
Parkrun Tamborine Mountain is now looking forward to their next major celebration which will be their 8th Birthday, on Saturday 4th February 2023.
Starting at 7am, parkrun is on every Saturday morning at the Tamborine Mountain Sports Centre.
