Monthly Report On Community Happenings for November
Some of the items addressed at the Tamborine and Districts Citizens Association Inc’s monthly meeting for September were:
Business Report:
TDCA Inc Markets – interest in the Market is continuing to grow in both number of stall holders and visitors. The last two markets of the year are sure to be well attended with Christmas on the horizon! Looking forward to next Tamborine Community Country Market on 20 November!
Tamborine’s Remembrance Day Service – the Tamborine Cenotaph Committee, TDCA Inc, and the Tamborine Village Lions Club will join to hold a Commemorative Service for Remembrance Day at the Tamborine Cenotaph commencing at 10.30am on 11 November 2022, with light refreshment in the Tamborine Memorial Hall afterwards.
New Members – TDCA Inc welcomed to new members, Treats In Tamborine Market holders Cari Hughes and Jade Matthews, to the group. Welcome Cari and Jade!
Councillor’s Report:
Growth Management Strategy – is currently out for community consultation. In Tamborine Village, property owners will be able to subdivide properties in certain areas that have more than to 2Ha down to a minimum of 1Ha.
Recent State Government changes sees ‘granny flats’ to only require a building approval and can be rented out to non-family members.
Agri Tourism and Agri Business Strategies – have been launched for Scenic Rim.
Road Works – funding has been secured for intersection of Karen Court and is scheduled for completion in first six months of 2023.
