or the upcoming by-election for Division 1 of the Scenic Rim, representative from the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ), Kim Driver, spoke passionately about her government role of the last 37 years working closely with council CEOs within 77 local governments across Queensland.
She asked session participants “What are you wanting to achieve?”, “What are your community objectives?” and “Can you meet your objectives for the community?” stating that there are 175 pieces of legislation and over 6000 lines of obligations within government with ethics for the law of utmost importance involving high expectations.
The session was attended by 7 or 8 potential candidates and supported by Scenic Rim CEO David Keenan and General Manager Council Sustainability Oliver Pring who also imparted their knowledge of the role.
