Residents in the state of Queensland went to vote at their local council elections held on Saturday 16 March 2024 to elect Mayors and Councillors in 77 local government areas.
The number of enrolled voters in the Scenic Rim is 33,111 so the final count for the mayor and the six divisions has taken many days following the election, which also includes collection of telephone voting and postal votes.
The new council is to be sworn in on Thursday 4 April 2024, with much training to take place, followed by a Special Meeting to establish the Deputy Mayor, chair of the Local Disaster Management Group, and other significant roles. Congratulations to the newly installed Scenic Rim Regional Council members when finally fully declared. We look forward to your four year service as representatives for our community.
