From Rustic Charm To Fire Twirlers @ The Tamborine Hotel
Hello, darlings! Matilda the donkey here, straight from the Bearded Dragon Hotel where I recently had the joy of celebrating a most enchanting wedding with a delightful couple Jodie and Brendan. Oh, the romance! The bride and groom’s day was as picturesque as our stunning Tamborine Mountain backdrop, and I must say, it made me dream of my own perfect wedding one day. I simply cannot fathom spending the remainder of my days perpetually cooped up with my odorous brother Clancy and that meddlesome little princess, Mabel!
Any-hoo, the festivities began with guests arriving first to check in to the accommodation for Friday night for pre-wedding day dinner & cocktails. Waking to a chefs amazing buffet breakfast by the fireplace in the Dining room with plenty of time for the pre nuptials at noon, and all greeted by the serene beauty of the mountain setting. At 3pm, the couple exchanged vows with local wedding celebrant Casey McBeath under a beautifully adorned arbour with eucalyptus drapes – how positively dreamy! The rustic charm was simply perfect.
As the afternoon unfolded, everyone enjoyed delightful activities, including my personal favourite – donkey feeding! Yes, that’s right. The carrots are presented in a fancy satin basket, positively posh nosh, just the way I like it. I had the pleasure of posing for photos with the lovely couple and their little boy. The smiles and laughter were simply contagious.
Later, canapés were served in the quaint train carriage, while guests indulged in some friendly competition with lawn games. It was such fun to watch! Mabel was as usual trying to grab the limelight with some hoo-ha about the Bride scrubbing up better than her and also why she doesn’t get to wear a dress for the occasion. Oh, dear!
Dinner in the Bluegum Ballroom was a feast to behold. The wedding reception menu included everything from slow-cooked beef brisket to lamb racks with a mustard herb crust. Yum! Oh goodness, so much delicious food and then some, with late night pizzas going out to keep everyone going into the night. And the grand finale? An amazing fire twirling display that left everyone in awe. Such flair!
The bride and groom were over the moon with their day, and their heartfelt review captures it all: “We planned a last-minute wedding interstate and chose the Tamborine Hotel as our venue, all without ever seeing it or being there, and we were certainly not disappointed. It was seven weeks from first enquiring to the wedding day, and there was no stress at all once we started dealing with the team here.”
They adored the spacious rooms, the rustic charm, and the unique outdoor settings. “We loved the rustic country vibe of the place, and the uniqueness of the outdoors. Stunning views as well as rustic wagons, windmills on the property, and a great little courtyard with an old train carriage where we held canapés,” they gushed.
Nae, our favourite events coordinator received high praise for their personal touch and can-do attitude. “Your organisation was second to none, as was your professionalism whilst still having that laid-back attitude that we loved,” the couple shared.
As always, our Tamborine Bearded Dragon Backyard, with its blend of rustic elegance and modern convenience, proved to be the perfect venue for their dream wedding. It’s no wonder they left with hearts full of joy and gratitude. Such fond memories, of which we all peddle daily around here!
So, if you’re dreaming of a wedding as magical as this one, look no further than the Bearded Dragon Hotel. And who knows, perhaps one day, I, Matilda, might find my own donkey soulmate and have a wedding as lovely as theirs Until then, we are all here to make your special day just as perfect! Cheerio!
